USA Cycling Permit Secured

River City Bicycle Classic is officially an USA Cycling permitted race! USA Cycling is the largest promoter of cycling in the nation. Their permit means River City Bicycle Classic must adhere to all USA Cycling racing rules, secure race marshalls & officials for race day as well as follow their safety procedures. A USA Cycling permit guarantees a safe and fair event for all participants. Additionally, USA Cycling officials will confirm the race results and send to  national record keepers. Having this important distinction supports River City Bicycle Classic's mission to bring quality racing to Evansville, Indiana.

Primes & Prizes

River City Bicycle Race has secured $1000.00 in primes to be dispersed among the eight race categories. For those not familiar with this term, prime (pronounced pream) is money and/or prizes that are won throughout the individual races. Here's how it works; racers hear the announcer call out that the next lap is a prime lap along with the prize to be won. Then racers start tactically plotting how they will win that prize. It is then awarded to the first person to cross the start/finish line during that lap. With this level of primes, June 9 is sure to have a lot of excitement with racers sprinting for money & prizes, perhaps several times in one race! Having this level of primes is sure to increase the racing intensity and add to the overall enjoyment for the spectators as they watch the racers vie for the goods. And we haven't even told you about the prizes yet. Stay tuned....
